When starting archery it is important to have someone who knows what they are talking about and who has a lot of experience in archery to help you get your archery equipment. You may even want to take some training classes in archery to get started.
The equipment you get as a beginner is different than someone who is intermediate or even advanced. You have something to work towards when you are beginning. Learning how to string your bow and even tune your bow correctly are important things to learn early. If you get this down you will enjoy your archery experience a lot better.
If you go online and look, you will also find there are sources out there that can help you get an idea of what you are getting involved with. It may not be a good idea to get your first archery set online, but you can at least get some information from online.
When using the right equipment from the beginning you will expect a certain thing, it will truly help the archery experience. You want to use this time to see if archery is really want you want to be doing or not. You do not want to buy cheap equipment, but you also do not want to spend a lot of money until you know if this is something you want to do for a long period of time.
When you are using beginning archery equipment you are learning things the correct way, which only makes you a better person. There is nothing wrong with starting at the beginning. We all have to start somewhere. Admitting you are beginning is a great place to be.

The ever-increasing number of those who purchase archery equipment for the first time and the constantly recurring requests for information on both shooting technique and equipment have prompted the author to assemble this material in which is set forth in simple non-technical language the essentials which will serve as a guide to the beginner in the purchase of suitable equipment and will also provide instruction in shooting techniques and tips on hunting.
The ability to shoot well is acquired through strict self-discipline and compliance with approved shooting methods. The material in this book is intended to guide the beginner in acquiring good shooting form which will become a habit through repeated effort.
The immense progress in the development of the modern bow and the variety of materials used in its construction, its capabilities, the use for which it is intended, and wide variations in price make it necessary for the novice to use care in the selection of the initial equipment.
It is hoped that the information contained within these covers will keep the novice from acquiring equipment entirely un-suited to his purpose and from developing shooting habits which will prevent full enjoyment of the sport. Whether on the target range, the field course, or in the hunting field, the bow adds to the recreational possibilities of the outdoors for every member of the family.
