Discover How Good Archery Equipment Can Have You Shooting Like An Expert!

From the desk of: Tony Lattanso

Fellow Archery Enthusiast,

I set this website up because I absolutely love archery and hunting. A bow and arrow beats a gun hands down for a true hunting experience. If you're not into hunting, hitting a target bullseye is almost as good. That's why I want to share my archery secrets with as many people as possible.

Since you've found this website I'm assuming you love archery as much as I do. The truth is, I'm always on the internet looking for tips and techniques to improve my archery skills. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by Mr Thomas A Forbes

Mr Forbes is one of the most well-known and influential archery instructors of all time. I noticed that most of his work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, 'Guide To Better Archery.' . Even though it was first published in 1955, this book has the best archery information I have ever seen.

In the 27 chapters, here's just a snippet of what is covered:

  • The history of the bow and how our ancient ancestors used their bows to stalk prey for their dinner.
  • How the bow and arrow made its way into the military and why they were instrumental in procuring a formidable defense against the enemy.
  • How to select your first bow - the selection is varied and bows are made for different applications.
  • The best techniques for target shooting and how to hit a bulls-eye every time.
  • The scoring and classification of archers. Discover the rules and regulations that govern tournaments.
  • How to organize an archery club, which could be loads of fun for people in your neighborhood.

If this is the kind of information that you have been looking for, here's the good news...

I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish Mr Thomas A Forbes's complete work on this website. Although I had to pay to have the manuscript reformatted and published online, archery is my passion. Therefore, I want to share this book with as many people as possible for free.

The information is second to none and you'll soon be hitting bulleyes with every draw.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers and Happy Shooting

Tony Lattanso

What You Should Know About Compound Bows
Before about the 1950s, there were only two choices for people who loved archery - recurve bows and longbows. Which one you used depended on what you were going to use the bow to do. Target practicers used either type of bow, according to their personal preferences, while hunters generally chose recurve bows for their extra power - better for felling deer and other large animals. However, the popularity of the compound bow changed things.
